Launch of the Kaye Fund Competition

 The University of Alberta Hospital, Kaye Edmonton Clinic, the University Hospital Foundation, and the co-chairs of the Kaye Fund Competition Steering Committee are pleased to launch the Kaye Fund Competition.
 
This opportunity will fund individual or collaborative, interdisciplinary teams in the pursuit of research, innovation, and quality improvement projects that aim to establish new approaches to patient care at the University of Alberta Hospital and Kaye Edmonton Clinic. A total of ~$700K is available and projects from $25,000 to $250,000 will be considered.
 
Deadlines: November 29, 2017 (LOI) and March 28, 2018 (full proposal). An information session will be held on October 27 at 12:00pm (WMC 1J2.47).

Clinical Trials Budgeting Part I: Industry-Initiated/Funded Trials

The FOMD Clinical Research Seminar Series is presenting the following seminar on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2-3:30 pm, in WMC Classroom D (2F1.04)

Clinical Trials Budgeting – Part I: Industry-Initiated/Funded Trials
As part of a two-part series on clinical trials budgeting, Sharon Appelman-Eszczuk (Director of Operations, Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease Research Group) and Sergey Nikitin (President & Director, Prime Site Research Solutions Inc.) will provide an introductory seminar on clinical trials budgeting for industry-initiated/funded trials (Part I). Topics covered will include budget preparation, negotiation skills, and budget tracking. Part II of the series will focus on budgeting for investigator-initiated clinical trials.

This session will be geared to those with a beginner-to-intermediate level of knowledge and expertise with clinical trials budgeting. Please note that Part I is a repeat session with updated content.
