DEADLINE EXTENDED to August 29 for the 2016 CNTRP Astellas Research Innovation Grant Competition

Of particular importance to Alberta researchers, there are two additional grants that will be awarded in Alberta. The Alberta Transplant Institute will provide two (2) additional grants of $25,000 CDN/each to the top ranked unfunded Alberta based researcher by the Astellas ATI CNTRP Research Innovation Grant competition over an 18-month performance period.

The CNTRP is extending the application deadline of the current 2016 Research Innovation Grant Competition in order to encourage and allow more applications to compete in this important grant competition.

The 2016 CNTRP Research Innovation Grant Competition in partnership with:

Astellas Pharma Canada
the Alberta Transplant Institute
the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and
the Multi-Organ Transplant Program at the University Health Network (UHN)
the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI)
Canadian Liver Foundation

Through partner contributions to this competition, we are able to offer at least 10 grants of $25K each to researchers across the country. A reminder that researchers do NOT need to be CNTRP members to apply to this competition.

New Application Deadline: August 29, 2016

The objective of the CNTRP Astellas Research Innovation Grant competition is to support peer-reviewed pilot research project(s) that align with CNTRP’s overall objective to increase organ and tissue donation in Canada and enhance the survival and quality of life of Canadians who receive transplants with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.

The primary area of focus for this competition is to nurture innovative research aligning with the strategic research priority of the CNTRP in the area of personalized medicine approaches in transplantation to improve health outcomes.

Astellas Pharma Canada is partnering with the CNTRP to provide $75,000 to support peer-reviewed pilot research projects that will contribute to the mandate of the CNTRP. The Alberta Transplant Institute is partnering to provide an additional $50,000 to support the top ranked unfunded applications in this competition from Alberta based researchers. The Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) is partnering to provide an additional $75,000 to support three (3) top ranked unfunded applications in this competition from CHUM based researchers. The Multi-Organ Transplant Program of the University Health Network in Toronto is partnering to provide an additional $25,000 to support the top ranked unfunded application in this competition from a UHN researcher. The University of Ottawa Heart Institute is now partnering to provide an additional $25,000 to support the top ranked unfunded application in this competition from an Ottawa-based cardiovascular researcher.
