AST Transplantation and Immunology Research Network (TIRN) Research Grant Competition

The AST Transplantation and Immunology Research Network (TIRN) research grants program seeks to support fellows, junior faculty, and allied health professionals by funding innovative research in basic, clinical, and translational science.

The AST TIRN has identified research priorities as suggested focus areas for grant applications in the 2016 research grants cycle. However, it is important to note that applications on any research topic will be accepted, as the importance of innovation in areas outside of these priorities is recognized.

A limited number of grants are awarded each funding cycle, and the number of grants and the term of each grant (either one or two years) varies each funding cycle.

Visit for complete details including eligibility criteria and funding guidelines.

Application Deadline is Tuesday, November 1, 2016

National Child Health Transplant Team Grant Competition 2016

Child Health Transplant Team Grant Competition

In partnership with the Transplant Research Foundation of BC, Astellas Canada, the Alberta Transplant Institute and the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, the CNTRP is pleased to announce the launch of a new team grant competition aimed to support research to improve outcomes for pediatric transplant patients through cross-Canada, multi-disciplinary collaboration.

This competition will provide $100,000 to support one team that is patient-focused and aims to have direct impact on improving health outcomes of pediatric solid organ transplant patients.

Between 2004-2013, over 1250 children in Canada have undergone a life-saving organ transplant. Due to their growth and development and the severity of their end-stage diseases, these young patients face a unique set of challenges that impact not only the success and side effects of transplantation, but increase the complexity of transplantation. Yet, much of their care is based upon clinical trials and studies conducted on adults. That is why it is so important to encourage and support research that focuses exclusively on children.

The application deadline is November 1, 2016 and the application details are available at
