The application deadline for the CNTRP Training Award Competition has been extended to JULY 15, 2015.

The CNTRP is extending the application deadline for this competition to July 15, 2015 to accommodate the addition of the ATI as a new funding partner.  The Alberta Transplant Institute (ATI) is joining BOTH the CNTRP Training Awards Competition and the CNTRP Research Innovation Grant Competition.  Through this important partnership, the ATI will provide additional funding to support researchers based in Alberta to apply for these competitions and bring their research and trainees into the national structure of the CNTRP.

  • For the training competition, the ATI is providing an additional $25,000 CDN/year over a period of two years to support the top ranked application of an Alberta trainee who applies to the CNTRP Astellas Training Grant Competition.

  • For the research grants competition, the ATI is also partnering with the CNTRP to provide an additional $25,000 to support the top-ranked Alberta application in the CNTRP Astellas Research Innovation Grant Competition (details available at

This is an exciting opportunity to support new and innovative research in Alberta and link this research with centres and researchers across the country through the CNTRP.  We strongly encourage other programs and centres across the country to consider partnering on these competitions as it provides an opportunity to support important research and bring new ideas into the CNTRP.
